Woolworths
Won a New Business During the Pandemic
The Story
During the early pandemic in February 2020, Woolworths, one of the largest supermarket chains in Australia, came to our team with a challenge.
With the social distancing in place, their print catalogs promoting weekly products could not reach customers and the PDF interactive catalog on their website had a low volume of traffic.
They needed a quick digital solution in a short amount of time to stay ahead of their competitors and keep their customers.
There were time and logistic constraints. The advertising agency working with the client for the catalog content was unable to deliver additional complex assets with a quick turnaround. So we had to find a way to simplify the process.
Goals
Brings more traffic to the interactive PDF catalog page on their website
Engage existing customers by delivering their weekly promotions and grocery online
Get new customers who switched from supermarkets to online
Solutions
After a few brainstorming meetings with the sales and technical solution team, we created strategized campaigns by goals and locations.
From the creative team, I came up with a few solutions that met their campaign goals that required less setup time for both the agency and our team.
- For the acquisition goal, I created a search banner to track new customers’ intent
- For the conversion goal, I created two types of creatives for showcasing weekly promotions with half-price badges on products.
Logistically, I made sure that the agency only needed to supply images in 3 ratios that could be scalable with our AI creative solution banner sizes.
Then we collaborated as a team to make sure the weekly schedule was met from the asset delivery, the creative set up, approval from the client, then runs the test and pushes the campaigns live on time.
Outcome
At the end of the 30-day test, Woolworths was sold on our solution and gave us one of the largest budgets the Australian sales team has won for a while.
