Locally Developed a Real Estate Layout

The Story


Domain.com.au was Australia's second-largest real-estate marketing business with 90% market penetration, and one of our top clients at the Criteo Pacific market.

They came to us with a sample of our competitor’s ad creative capable to display necessary information from their property listing page and they requested to match it and improve the existing look and feel.

At that time, we did not have the exact pixel-perfect layout that could match what the client wanted. In order to meet the clients’ needs and stay ahead of the competition, so we needed to create a new layout to increase conversion. For new user acquisition, the need is to create a more effective solution to increase traffic.

Goals

  • Conversion: Display necessary data from the property listing page to the users, such as number of bedrooms, bathroom, car parking in a property, and the realtor’s company logo

  • Acquisition: Increase traffic to the property listing page with attractive banner creative

  • Experience: Met client’s expectations and user needs, to stay ahead of the competition

Solutions

After a few brainstorming meetings with the client, account, and the dev team, I came up with solutions that met campaign goals performance, satisfy the client’s expectation, and improve the user experience
- For the acquisition goal, I created a studio banner creative that displayed the number of available properties at their browsed desired locations
- For the conversion goal, I created the wireframe with a hierarchy of data prioritization for square, horizontal, vertical product view. Upon approval, high fidelity mockup was handed off to the dev team to be built.

Outcome

After partnering with Criteo, Domain successfully:

  • Executed efficient, scalable campaigns, without increasing the cost-per-acquisition (CPA)

  • Boosted overall lead generation significantly compared to Domain’s previous partners

  • Improved the sophistication of their retargeting approach

This layout was the first real estate vertical developed locally in the APAC market, launched globally. After this layout was released, it was adopted 1,000’s of times globally and enjoyed performance success in the real estate vertical.
